natural dyes workshop
Come and enjoy a colourful, hands-on day for the whole family
Join us at Warlingham Forest School for a fun and creative workshop where you’ll explore the magic of natural dyes made from plants, food scraps, and foraged treasures. This is a wonderful way for children and grown-ups alike to learn, play, and get creative together in nature.
WHAT YOU’LL DO TOGETHER:
Discover natural dye ingredients you can find in your garden or even from your kitchen!
Make and use different plant dyes over a cosy campfire
Prepare and dye fabrics, and watch how colours change like magic
Try out different techniques to create rainbow shades
Learn how to make colours stick using safe fixers called mordants
Experiment with patterns and textures using fun tools and methods
Show off your creations to take home!
All materials are provided but you can bring a plain t-shirt if you’d like to dye it

Come walk with Jakki
As the land stretches into summer and the wild edges soften with light, you’re invited to join me for a gentle nature medicine walk — a chance to slow down, reconnect, and let the earth speak.
Together we’ll wander through the emerging green, noticing the plants and trees waking around us. I’ll share some of the plant allies we may meet along the way, and — if nature offers — there may be an opportunity for mindful foraging.
This is not a fast-paced hike, but a slow, soulful journey — a time to be with the land, to awaken your senses, and to tune into the quiet medicine that lives in each leaf, stem, and whisper of wind.
We’ll move gently and with presence
We’ll explore stories and uses of local plants
We’ll deepen our relationship with the more-than-human world
And we’ll honour the turning season — as nature herself leans into summer
Bring your curiosity, an open heart, and something to sit on as we may pause for reflection or sharing along the way.
